ABOUT

Discover hundreds of characters at your fingertips! This joy-led intensive will give you the tools to pull out authentic characters at the drop of a hat!

You are already very interesting and original; this course will help you become aware of postures, rhythms, and patterns that you already do naturally so you can develop original characters with emotional depth based on familiar habits.

  • Saturday, May 14th will be all about focusing on physicality.
  • Saturday, May 21st focuses on voice and point of view.

The workshops are held at Thistle Hall, 293 Cuba Street, between 10 am - 1 pm.

Liz Butler is a joy-fueled, curious-minded, multi-disciplinary artist, improviser, director, and performer. 

Liz has taught, performed, and directed shows at the NZ Improv Festival and the NZ Fringe Festival. She has also taught and performed with Improv Connection for the past two years. Liz was nominated for “Most Promising Emerging Performer” at the 2022 NZ Fringe Festival. 

Liz is also a dedicated clown and plays with the Feminist Clown Posse in Wellington for a year. The magic of collaboration drives her work and career, and she loves facilitating workshops that allow others to have their own personal and creative revelations.

COVID-19: In the event of cancellation due to COVID-19, a one-on-one replacement session with Ben Zolno will be offered at no additional cost. Non-refundable.
